    RB Zach Charbonnet

Macdonald: No timetable for Charbonnet (knee)
`If you`re betting on anybody you`re going to bet on Zach so we`ll go from there. But he`s not going to do anything in the spring or anything like that` Macdonald finished. A torn ACL suffered in the playoffs will almost certainly eat into Charbonnet`s regular season. The Seahawks could bring Kenneth Walker back but if they don`t Charbonnet may eventually be the lead back in 2026 — it`d just be a matter of when his recovery concluded and how comfortable the team felt giving him the role at that point.

Breer: KC could be interested in Kenneth Walker
Breer adds the Broncos and Texans as teams he`d `assume` would be interested in Walker coming off a Super Bowl MVP performance. With Breece Hall likely to be franchise or transition tagged if a deal isn`t worked out with the Jets Walker appears set to be the best running back to hit the market. Seahawks GM John Schneider did not comment on the idea of franchise tagging Walker at his combine presser while Adam Schefter called it `unlikely` earlier this week. Rotoworld Yesterday 2:25 pm
    WR Tory Horton

Macdonald doesn`t expect Horton (shin) in spring
He got `fixed up` in Macdonald`s lingo — we assume that means surgery — and is likely questionable for the start of training camp given how much time he missed with this shin injury in the 2025 season. If healthy Horton could challenge for a real role next year depending on if the Seahawks bring Rashid Shaheed back or not. Rotoworld Yesterday 4:10 pm
RB Zach CharbonnetSeahawks` Zach Charbonnet: No timetable yet for return [3D ago]
At this stage the Seahawks don`t have an estimate on when Charbonnet (knee) can resume football-related activities Gregg Bell of The Tacoma News Tribune reports.

SFFL Slant: Charbonnet who is under contract with Seattle through 2026 had surgery last weekend to repair a torn ACL in his knee which typically carries an 8-12 month recovery period. However it is worth noting that coach Mike Macdonald said Wednesday regarding a potential timetable for the running back ""It`s more optimistic than it was initially. So that`s exciting on like being able to come back at an earlier time."" In any case Macdonald added that Charbonnet is ""not gonna do anything in the spring "" a reality that figures to impact the Seahawks` offseason approach in terms of their backfield. The most notable moving part on that front is the status of fellow RB Kenneth Walker who is eligible to become a free agent following his MVP effort in Super Bowl LX. Given the timing of Charbonnet`s surgery his Week 1 status remains in doubt but GM John Schneider isn`t willing to rule out the possibility that 2023 second-rounder could be available. ""I wouldn`t put anything past him "" Schneider said of Charbonnet.
WR Tory HortonSeahawks` Tory Horton: Out for spring workouts [3D ago]
Head coach Mike Macdonald said Wednesday that Horton (shin/groin) ""got fixed up"" and won`t be available for the start of the Seahawks` offseason program in the spring Brady Henderson of ESPN.com reports.

SFFL Slant: Macdonald`s comments would seem to imply that Horton had surgery to address the lower-body injuries that kept him sidelined from Week 10 through the end of the Seahawks` postseason run. Horton still appears on track to be ready to go for the start of training camp in late July but he may not fully participate in OTAs or minicamp. Before getting hurt the 2025 fifth-round pick had produced a 13-161-5 receiving line on 23 targets and recorded a 95-yard punt-return touchdown over his eight appearances as a rookie.
WR Rashid ShaheedSeahawks` Rashid Shaheed: Interested in re-signing [9D ago]
Shaheed said Wednesday that he`s ""absolutely"" interested in re-signing with Seattle NFL.com`s Eric Edholm reports.

SFFL Slant: Shaheed`s snap share and target share dropped after a mid-season trade from New Orleans to Seattle but he made splash plays for his new team -- both on offense and special teams -- en route to the Super Bowl. He`ll now become a free agent in March if he doesn`t first re-sign in Seattle where fellow wideouts Jaxon Smith-Njigba Cooper Kupp and Tory Horton (shin) remain under contract.
RB Kenneth WalkerSeahawks` Kenneth Walker: Not expected to be franchise tagged [11D ago]
The Seahawks are not expected to extend the franchise tag to Walker who will be an unrestricted free agent this offseason Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

SFFL Slant: Seattle will have a number of tough roster decisions following the team`s Super Bowl LX victory with a contract extension for Jaxon Smith-Njigba likely being the top priority. Walker played a full 17 regular-season games for the first time in his career in 2025 rushing 221 times for 1 027 yards and five scores while securing 31 of 36 targets for 282 receiving yards. He was even more dominant during the postseason culminating in Super Bowl MVP honors after he rushed for 135 yards versus the Patriots adding two catches for 26 yards. The franchise tag would lock him into a 2026 salary of $14.5 million however which could be more than Seattle can afford. While the Seahawks could still attempt to sign Walker to an extension it may be difficult for the team to compete with the offers the 25-year-old running back projects to receive on the open market. Seattle still also has Zach Charbonnet (knee) under contract though after having suffered an ACL tear in the divisional round his availability for Week 1 is uncertain at best.
